The Lions of Hillsboro try to help others in the community. As the motto of the Lions is “WE SERVE”, our Lions try to adhere to the motto within our community, our state, our nation and even internationally. This is done in many ways throughout the year. Assistance is provided by donations of funds, aid donated to help in eye care and eyeglasses, assistance with hearing aids, donations of food baskets, sending children to camp and providing free reading books at least three times a year to grade school children in Hillsboro. We also support our local Food Pantry.
The Lions meet the second and fourth Tuesday each month at the American Legion Post in Hillsboro. The members socialize at 6:30 PM and the meetings start at 7 PM.
Did you know the Lions Club of Hillsboro was originally chartered in 1933? During the Second World War years the club folded and did not reactivate until 1953 when it was re-chartered. It has been going strong ever since. Currently there are 47 members in the club and the club is looking for membership growth.
We are known as the “Home of The Active Lions.”
