DogSight Project

Beginning in the Lions year 2000-2001 by the respective cabinets, the goal of the committee is to raise $20,000 annually to sponsor the breeding and placement of a guide dog.  The FIDELCO Guide Dog Foundation in Bloomfield, CT, has been the recipient each year.

Lion Gene Maier, then a member of the Newport (44N) Lions Club and a "puppy foster parent", first challenged the NH Lions by appealing to each club in MD44 for a financial contribution.  Lion Maier continues to be a guiding force behind the project.

Donations of any size are acknowledged with thanks.  Recognition, in the form of a banner patch, is given to clubs which donated $300 or more.  A speaker pool aids clubs that request more information about the program.
